Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has had his say on AC Milan shot stopper GianlugiDonnaruma amidst the transfer rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League. GianlugiDonnaruma has been linked with Premier League giants Chelsea despite the fact that the Blues signed a new goalkeeper at the start of the season. Chelsea had a lot of issues with their goalkeeping department last season due to the inconsistent form of then first choice KepaArrizabalaga. The Blues moved to solve the problems from the department when they signed Edouard Mendy from Rennes in the French Ligue 1 last summer.

Chelsea paid £24m to secure the signing of the Senegalese international from Rennes and he has been a massive upgrade on Spanish international Kepa Arrizabalaga, who’s now the number two goalkeeper following the arrival of Edouard Mendy. Kepa Arrizabalaga was dropped by recently sacked Chelsea manager Frank Lampard on several occasions last season due to his poor form in the Blues goal. Chelsea signed him in the summer of 2018 in a £71m deal to make him the most expensive goalkeeper in history but he has not justified the money spent to sign him from Athletic Bilbao of the Spanish La Liga.

Chelsea are interested in signing GianlugiDonnaruma and Iker Casillas has encouraged the Italian international shot stopper to leave AC Milan for a club that’s more relevant in European football at the moment. Iker Casillas talked about GianlugiDonnaruma via his official Twitter handle and AC Milan fans didn’t take it well as they bombarded Iker Casillas to let him know what they think about his tweet. Gianlugi Donnaruma has less than six months on his contract and he’s free to negotiate with foreign clubs over a free transfer deal in the summer. AC Milan are still fighting to keep him and they are willing to offer him a new contract worth €7.5m yearly.
